G. R. PIKE & BOBBY HADSKEY WIN GOLD CUP DIVISION
The dynamic duo of Pike & Hadskey ,car # 40, in their 1916 Hudson Indy car, showed once again why they
are regarded as one of the top rally teams in the country. Slogging through the rain, the heat and the
demanding course, they were able to pull out yet another win in the Gold Cup Championship Division by
besting the field with an amazing cumulative score of just 42.84 seconds off perfect time. When asked how
they do it, Bobby Hadskey replied “We have raced this old car for so long, we just seem to know when it feels
right”. G. R. , with a sly grin, just agrees, and they keep on winning!
Marvin Weyer and Stuart Curtis, car #22, in a 1919 Essex Racer ran a close second, with just 56.80 seconds
off perfect time. This one-half of the Best Chairs sponsored entries made the boss proud, even besting him
by 2.96 seconds.
In third spot, Clem Lange and Bruce Sickbert, the other half of the Best Chairs sponsored teams, in car #19,
a 1920 Essex Convertible, tried their best (no pun intended) to overtake their team-mates, but came up short
on the last two stages, with a total score of just 59.76 seconds off perfect time.

plagued the team, running one day without a speedometer.
BILL LOUBIERE & DAN LOUBIERE WIN SILVER CUP DIVISION
The team of Loubiere & Loubiere gave notice that they are here! Driving a 1929 Ford Model A Racer, car #3,
they scored in the top of every stage to post a convincing win in the Silver Cup Division. With a total score of
just 49.56 seconds off perfect time, they had the second best score of the event. With this win, they are
graduated into the Gold Cup Division in the next event.
With the rooster on the front bumper leading the charge ( you’d just have to see it to know what I’m talking
about), the team of Jeff & Eric Fredette, car # 91, in their 1933 Ford Pickup, won stage five to surge into
second place overall. With a total score of 1m07.15 seconds, they were nipping at the winners heels.
In third place, Joe Knowles & Beth Gentry , car #30, a 1932 Ford Cabriolet, showed that a father/ daughter
team can be super tough. With a great score, only 1m16.44 seconds off perfect time, they bested the other
half of the Knowles teams by 13.44s seconds. They also captured the Overall Ace Award with 4 Aces.

The checkered flag has dropped on the first ever HEMMINGS Branson Vintage Rally. Over 40 teams from
across the country gathered in Branson, Missouri to take part in this one of a kind, world class rally event.
Sanctioned by the Vintage Car Rally Association, this rally concept would be a new approach, one that was
quickly adopted by the entrants as a way to “Put the fun back into old car rallies”. Top teams from 28
different states were in attendance, each one anxious to grab his or her part of the $55,000 purse. Five and
one-half days in duration, the cloverleaf style rally allowed teams to return to the same host hotel each
night, allowing the support crews to join in on the evening sponsor festivities such as the Tony Chachere
catfish fry on Sunday evening and the awesome dinner and entertainment extravaganza put on by Stormy
Point Village on Wednesday evening. And, of course, there was no shortage of other action on the Landing
adjoining the host Hilton hotel. But the key ingredient of the event is the fact that VCRA is a not for profit
entity, and all proceeds are donated to the Autism Society of America and Autism Awareness foundations
and chapters in need. The overwhelming support of all sponsors, racers and crews, the sale of T-shirts, caps
and Yo-Yo’s was culminated in the fact that over $30,000 was raised for charity.
